Spenard Second Saturday!

Every second Saturday is your special day to be in Spenard! Friendly local merchants up and down Historic Spenard Road are doing something special to make your walk through the district a fun adventure. S2S is more of a movement than just an event. The goal is to cultivate a culture in our community of loving our local businesses, celebrating Spenard's unique character(s) and history, and giving back to our beloved neighborhood. Spenard 2 Saturday is about community engagement; it’s an opportunity for each business/organization to promote their events each month using the hashtag #spenard2ndsaturday and adding their event to the Google Event Map. Quarterly, participating businesses go ALL OUT and bring focus to a specific nonprofit that is working to improve our neighborhood. Stickers and merch will be created by a local artist quarterly to be sold at participating businesses. Sales will support our featured nonprofit and S2S to ensure the initiative is sustainable. Celebrates Neighborhood businesses by: ● Google Event Map ● Use of #spenard2ndsaturday hashtag. Gives back to the community: ● Local storefronts sell stickers that Spenard artists design. The proceeds are donated to a nonprofit chosen by the core S2S volunteer group. As a community member/attendee: 1. Use the hashtag #spenard2ndsaturday to get your friends engaged with the event. 2. Vote with your wallet! Giving back to the community can look like shopping at a local business or going to a local artist's show; this is the perfect opportunity for just that. Spenard 2nd Saturdays are organized and co-hosted by a core group of volunteer Spenardians who take pride in the Spenard neighborhood. We work together to engage the community in the creative space, taking advantage of the unique culture of Spenard to bring people together.
