The air is feeling electric as we approach the 2026 World Championships, and Play! Pokémon is ready to kick off the celebration early! From August 21 to August 30, Play! Pokémon Stores will host 2026 Worlds Celebration tournaments, where you can battle fellow Pokémon Trainers and make new friends at your local Play! Pokémon Store. Participating Trainers will earn a Pokémon Trading Card Game promo card featuring Pikachu and a San Francisco-inspired background, while supplies last. Plus, Trainers who win a Pokémon VGC or Pokémon GO event will be treated to a Worlds Celebration themed screen cleaner perfect for keeping their device nice and tidy.* Promotional cards and items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Join the worldwide community of video game competitors in the Play! Pokémon Video Game Championship (VGC) Series using Pokemon Champions! If you think you are up to the challenge complete your booking request form (booking form needed for each participant) for the event you wish to attend, and we will confirm to you as soon as possible if there is space!!! The details of the tournament, and additional important information are as follows: Swiss Format (number of rounds dependent on number or attendees), Best of 3 games Depending on number of players a Top Cut of 4 or 8 could be needed Pokémon players will need to bring their own devices with the game downloaded and are responsible for ensuring the device is fully functional, and that the device and Game are free from custom software and firmware. Regulation Set for Pokémon Champions: Only Pokémon obtained in Pokémon Champions or those transferred from Pokémon HOME are eligible.
