Pauper is the most accessible and affordable Magic: The Gathering format out there. Since the format only uses cards at common rarity, and has a carefully curated Ban List, it's easy to build a Pauper deck with leftover cards from a Draft, Set, or Collector Boosters for an example. Even then, it's easy to create multiple Pauper decks allowing other MTG players to enter the format. In fact: Our pauper players always have several decks they can loan out to a new player who wants to jump in on the fun! Entry is $10, but all buy-ins are returned to the top competitors as store credit and Tony distributes many of his Wizards promo items at these events.Pauper is widely considered the best competitive constructed format as a point of entry, given the low barrier to entry and cost.
