Playing Commander at Huzzah Hobbies:Commander is one of Magic’s mostbeloved and popular formats. It was designed as a social format and is subjectto a lot of different opinions on ways to enjoy it. Because of this, weunderstand that there can be confusion between what is generally accepted in apublic play spaces such as ours. Here are some guidelines we ask you followwhen playing Commander here at Huzzah:1. The focus in on having fun! – Commander at its base is a social format with a ton ofways to play and win. However not everyone has fun in the same way, and werecognize that. We want to focus of everyone’s experience to be having a goodtime, not necessarily winning every time. Please make sure to keep theatmosphere light-hearted and game oriented. Winning is fun, but not worth it ifeveryone has a terrible time. 2. Be respectful and understanding – Not everyone has the same love, passion, understanding, orexperience with Magic. From the greenest of players to battle hardened judges,make sure you are respectful to the level of your fellow player’s understandingof the game. If there is a rules question talk it out calmly, let newer playerstake back mistakes as they learn the game, make sure communication is clearwhen playing cards, etc. Being disrespectful or rude to another player isgrounds to have you removed from playing in an event. If there are ever anyquestions or concerns, feel free to consult a staff member and they should beable to assist you. 3. Talk about your deck before the game starts - We encourage any time you sit downat a table with another player that you explain how you want your game to go.Whether it be a deck of your favorite cards or creating the most efficient staxmachine competitive magic can make, make it clear to your opponents so they caneither adjust accordingly, or try to find a group that is more suitable totheir preferred way
